Association
of Project Management
The Association is fast growing and committed to an energetic programme
of activities to help Project Managers and others involved or interested
in Project Management to progress their professional careers and to further
develop professionalism in Project Management. Women in Project Management
(WiPM) is a specific interest group of the Association for Project Management.
PM Lifeline
PMlifeline is a 'different' project management information site. Born
out of the frustration of reading articles and reviews that are removed
from real world experience, PMlifeline seeks to offer an informed and
intelligent perspective on project management, developed through day to
day experiences.
National Association
of Women in Construction
Women currently make up just 10% of the UK construction workforce. The
National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC) aims not only to
redress this balance, but also to raise the profile of those professional
women already working in the industry, encouraging best practice and providing
mutual support.
PMForum
The PMFORUM® provides instant access to world-wide project management
information. Includes a Calendar, vendor directory and extensive list
of project management links.
The International
Cost Engineering Council
A World-wide Confederation of Cost Engineering, Quantity Surveying, and
Project Management Societies, it is a non-political and non-profit organisation
which was founded in 1976 with the object of promoting co-operation between
national and multinational cost engineering, quantity surveying and project
management organisations world-wide for their mutual wellbeing and that
of their individual members. ICEC member societies are located in more
than 30 countries, and have chapters or sections in many additional countries.
PMI Women in
Project Management
The WiPM (Women in Project Management) SIG is a component of Project Management
Institute, chartered in 1995. It is a dedicated team of project management
professionals, primarily female, who are geographically dispersed all
over the world. What really makes us unique is that we are not industry-specific,
so our focus on project management practices is very broad. To learn more
about us, go to http://www.pmi.org/sigs/wipm
Construction
Industry Training Board (CITB) Equal Opportunities
Notwithstanding an encouraging trend towards diversity, the number of
women and Black and Asian people employed in construction remains disproportionately
low. The CITB recognises that as a core industry that underpins all others,
construction needs to access a wider pool of talent in order to recruit
and develop a high quality workforce that is motivated and skilled.
